By combining hip hop “turntablism” and house style mixing, D-Up brings forth a unique approach, while creating an undeniable energy that keeps party goers begging for more. D-Up incorporates all types of music into his action-packed sets, including hip hop, house, reggae, rock, 80s classics, exclusive remixes and more. A turntable veteran of 15 years, the Miami based DJ has earned a reputation that has “…made this DC native nearly famous,” writes South Beach USA.

His skill and knack to amaze crowds has led him to be featured numerous times by top media outlets, including not only the Miami New Times and the SunPost Weekly, but also NBC Miami, CBS Miami, South Beach USA, The Washington Post, Haute Living Magazine, BizBash, The Broward/Palm Beach New Times, StupidDOPE.com, DIME Magazine and much more. Having completed a three year Saturday night residency at Miami Beach’s legendary Delano Hotel, D-Up is now the Saturday night resident DJ at Miami Beach’s uber-popular Foxhole Bar. Additionally, he has demolished dance floors at some of Miami’s and South Florida’s top venues, including Bardot, Wall, Pangaea, Vibe, Shelborne Hotel, Red Room at Shore Club, Ricochet, Martini Bar, Mokai, Dream, Rokbar, The Vagabond and much more .

D-Up is one of a handful of DJ’s that Scratch DJ Academy calls upon for top-tier events and clients, such as MTV, B.E.T., ESPN, Glamour Magazine, Seventeen Magazine, Malibu, AVP/Pro Volleyball Tour, 7 For All Mankind, Ben Sherman, SAKS Fifth Ave., Converse, Vans and Adidas. Not to mention, D-Up was hand selected to be Royal Caribbean’s Guest Celebrity DJ aboard the largest cruise ship in the world. Following a noteworthy tour, D-Up was once again chosen to be the Celebrity DJ for ESPN, Redbull and Royal Caribbean’s Superbowl 2010 Weekend as well as Norwegian Cruise Lines‘ Guest Celebrity DJ. D-Up also performed for the Honda Civic Tour, which featured world- famous rock band, Paramore. Additionally, D-Up has taken the stage at events sponsored by popular brands including Grey Goose, Scion, Red Bull, Gucci, Ed Hardy, Tiger Beer, Rinse Magazine, WeSC, Skull Candy and more. In 2013, D-Up was once again hand-selected to be the DJ for retail conglomerate H&M at their South Beach location. Additionally, Scratch DJ Academy brought him on board as an instructor at their Miami location, joining a staff of some of the country’s top DJs.

In 2011, D-Up performed at the iconic hip hop festival, Rock the Bells, opening for Black Star (Mos Def + Talib Kweli). D-Up also has shared the stage with hip hop icons Pusha T (Clipse), M1 (Dead Prez), N.O.R.E. (CNN), A.Z. (The Firm), Cormega, Miami favorites iMAYDAY! and the electro-funk duo, Afrobeta.

The veteran disc jockey has been steadily making his move in the studio, earning his chops as a producer and audio engineer. With a focus on music production, mixing and mastering, D-Up is looking forward to releasing music and helping others do the same. A soon-to-be graduate of Miami International University – Arts Institutes with a degree in Audio Engineering, and currently a studio assistant at Grammy Award winning producers Cool & Dre’s Record Room Studios, D-Up is steadily developing his skills and looking forward to emulating the same success he has had as a DJ in the music production world.

Before Miami, D-Up grew to iconic status in his hometown of Washington, DC, perform- ing over 200 shows a year at D.C.’s most exclusive venues. D-Up was the go-to DJ for the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders. Additionally, his residencies attracted countless touring artists, such as Jamie Foxx, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, as well as hometeam favorites The Washington Redskins, The Washington Capitals, The Washing- ton Nationals and the list goes on. D-Up also founded the much beloved, cutting edge sneaker/skate shop, Kickballers, which boasted a worldwide following and top-tier accounts with premier brands such as Adidas, Reebok, The North Face, Burton, Etnies and more.
